Hi there, my name's William. All right, originally, this was a project I had in mind, (much like in that movie Julie & Julia if you haven't seen it, do so now) where I would write a short story every week for a year. Sadly, I've not kept my promise to get any better at writing. On the upside, I finally managed to become a bit more creative than I expected, which was ultimately one of my original goals (woohoo). Im puertorrican and I love my island, but to be honest not that many people here care about blogging on tumblr, that is why I'm going to practice my english writing here, but dont be fooled, I will alternate to spanish every now and then, so maybe you can learn a little spanish from me. Finally I will keep on writing my short stories because I feel good when I do so, not because I plan on becoming the next Gabriel García Márquez. Thanks for reading!

"U.S. domestic drug policy does not carry out its stated goals, and policymakers are well aware of that. If it isn’t about reducing substance abuse, what is it about? It is reasonably clear, both from current actions and the historical record, that substances tend to be criminalized when they are associated with the so-called dangerous classes, that the criminalization of certain substances is a technique of social control."

This is a picture of an Animal Testing Facility. The reason they use rabbits for animal testing is because they are the only animal who can not flush chemicals out of their eyes without using aids like water or their paws.
Next time you buy cosmetics or hair spray or anything in the beauty section - choose the brands that are NOT tested on animals.
Here’s a hint: Loreal are the worlds biggest cosmetic animal testers, and Garnier isa sub-company of Loreal.
If you have trouble finding out who tests on animals and who doesn’t, google is at your fingertips.
The look on the bunnies face second from the right is absolutely heartbreaking.

…As you know, Dems and lefty groups have been loudly insisting that House Republicans in favor of repealing the Affordable Care Act should forego the “government run” insurance they enjoy as members of Congress.
One of those GOPers is Rep. Leonard Lance of New Jersey… He is in the crosshairs of an ad by Blue America PAC accusing him of enjoying taxpayer-funded insurance.
After that ad started running, Lance’s office protested that he is not enrolled in the plan enjoyed by members of Congress, and successfully got the ad pulled. But in response, New Jersey’s Courier-Post did some digging and found that as a retired state government official, he and his family do enjoy taxpayer-funded health care on the state level…

Today at UPR Rio Piedras:
This is the massive, oppressive and unnecessary presence of the Police inside the University of Puerto Rico. Today was a most sad day for this whole island and civil rights. The students were PAINTING murals and slogans in the street in front of the main library, in protests against the administration of the university and the rise of tuition. After a heated discussion between the students and the police, who were video-taping them, the latter resorted to exaggerated violence. Students were beaten with rods and fists. Over 20 students were arrested.
